Kingston Calling Safe Space Policy
Kingston Calling is committed to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy music, culture and community with confidence.
Our Safe Space Policy reflects the values of the festival and has been developed alongside our staff training programme, artist agreements and operational planning. Every staff member, contractor, supplier, volunteer and artist working at the festival is required to understand and uphold these standards.
This policy applies equally to everyone on site. We believe every person deserves to feel respected, safe and included regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, religion or ability.
Security
We work with one of New Zealand's leading event security providers, with teams trained in:

Responsible alcohol management
Crowd welfare
Incident response
Our security team works alongside festival management to ensure a safe environment throughout the event.
Ask for Angela / Andrew
Kingston Calling supports the Ask for Angela / Andrew initiative.
If at any point an attendee feels unsafe, intimidated or harassed, they can discreetly ask any member of our event team for Angela or Andrew.
Our staff are trained to recognise this request and will immediately assist the attendee to a safe location, provide support and help them decide how they would like to proceed.
Attendees can also report concerns anonymously throughout the event.

We are committed to building a festival programme that represents a broad range of artists, cultures and communities while creating an environment where everyone feels welcome.
Our staff undertake diversity and inclusion training, and we continue to work alongside specialist partners to ensure the festival remains accessible, respectful and representative.
